Instructions for using contact lenses

Instructions for using contact lenses

Applying and removing contact lenses is simpler than it may seem. After a few exercises, you will become a professional.

Here are some useful tips:

Always wash your hands with soap and water and dry them with a lint-free towel every time before using the contact lenses.
Wash, rinse and disinfect lenses after each use.
Start every time, when applied or removed, with the same lens to avoid lens confusion from the right eye to the left one.

Applying the contact lenses

  1. It is indicated to rinse each lens with a little solution before application.
  2. Put a lens on the top of your finger (index) from the hand you are used to writing. Make sure the lens is in the correct position.
  3. Look straight ahead. Pull down the bottom of the lower eyelid with your third finger of the hand you write with.
  4. Pull up the upper eyelid with the index finger from the other hand and look upwards.
  5. Apply lightly the lens at the bottom, on the white area of the eye.
  6. Withdraw the finger and let go of the eyelids.
  7. Look down and then close your eyes for a while. The lens will be seated and centered alone.
  8. Repeat the procedure for the other lens.

Removing the lenses from the eyes

  1. You can use a lubricant eye drop (eye drops) just before removing the lenses. How much a drop applied to each eye will help you get your lenses off more easily.
  2. Look up and pull lightly on the edge of the lower eyelid with the three of your hand with which you are used to writing.
  3. Put the finger 2 (index) from the same hand on the lower edge of the lens and pull the lens on the white area of the eye.
  4. Gently take the lens between the thumb and index and pull it out of your eye.
  5. Repeat the procedure for the other lens.
  6. If the edges of the lens stick, place the lens on the palm, apply solution, and lightly rub the lens until the edges of the lens break out.

Precautions

  • Full coverage of the lens in the recommended storage solution reduces the risk of the lens drying (dehydrated).
  • Ensure that care products are unexposed.
  • Proper hand hygiene is recommended before application.
  • Don’t wear more than 14 hours/day.
  • We strongly encourage you to follow the ophthalmologist's instructions when choosing and testing contact lenses as well as all his recommendations for using contact lenses.
